How does Invisalign® work?
The aligners are manufactured so that your teeth will move in small increments. When you put in a new aligner, your tooth mold is slightly straighter than your teeth currently are. This puts pressure on your teeth, and over the course of a week, your teeth will move to match the aligner.
As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will continue to move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll need to visit us about once every 10-12 weeks to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned.
Three steps forward. No steps back.
- Once your Invisalign Provider has confirmed that you are eligible for treatment, they will take photos, X-rays and digital scans, or a dental impression, of your teeth. These records will be used to create a ClinCheck 3D treatment plan, just for you.
- After being custom-made and shipped to your Provider’s office, you’ll receive a series of aligners to wear every day and change at home - on average every 1-2 weeks.
- You’ll visit your Provider around every 10-12 weeks to monitor progress and receive new aligners.
In the meantime, we keep track of your progress with Invisalign Virtual Care.
After finishing your treatment plan, retainers will be required to maintain your new smile.
